Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jisheng Shenqi Pill is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula originally recorded in the Song Dynasty text 'Jisheng Fang'. It is an expansion of the classic Jin Kui Shen Qi Wan, specifically formulated by adding *Semen Plantaginis* and *Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae* to enhance diuretic and blood-circulating properties. The formula is primarily used to treat 'Kidney Yang Deficiency' accompanied by water retention, manifesting as edema, dysuria, and coldness in the lower extremities. Modern pharmacological research indicates that the formula acts through a multi-component, multi-target approach to improve renal function, modulate water-electrolyte balance via aquaporin regulation, and provide anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic effects in the kidneys. It is a staple patent medicine in China for managing chronic renal conditions and age-related urinary disorders.
