Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiuwei Chushi is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation primarily indicated for the treatment of skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis, particularly those classified under the "damp-heat" pattern in TCM theory. Developed and manufactured by Guizhou Warmen Pharmaceutical, the drug is composed of nine herbal ingredients, including *Sophora flavescens* (Ku Shen), *Dictamnus dasycarpus* (Bai Xian Pi), and *Phellodendron amurense* (Huang Bai). It exerts its therapeutic effects through anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, and anti-pruritic activities. Clinical studies and pharmacological research suggest that Jiuwei Chushi modulates the immune response by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-4 and IL-5 and reducing serum IgE levels. It is widely used in China and is available in various oral dosage forms, most commonly as granules (Keli).
