Jiuwei Shufeng Pingchuan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of He'nan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic persistent bronchial asthma. Specifically indicated for the 'wind asthma syndrome' (feng-xiao) subtype, the drug is formulated as granules. It aims to alleviate symptoms by dispelling wind and relieving wheezing, adhering to TCM principles for respiratory disorders. As of 2023, it is undergoing Phase II clinical evaluation (ChiCTR2300072816) to assess its efficacy, safety, and to determine the optimal therapeutic dose in patients with persistent asthma.
