Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jiuwei Yongan Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Shanghai Changhai Hospital for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD). The formula is specifically designed to address the "blood deficiency and wind dryness" syndrome, a common TCM classification for chronic, pruritic skin conditions. As a "Jiuwei" (nine-flavor) preparation, it consists of nine distinct herbal ingredients selected to synergistically nourish the blood, moisten the skin, and alleviate the intense itching associated with AD. The decoction is administered orally and is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to assess its efficacy in improving skin lesions and reducing the severity of itching in patients whose condition aligns with the blood deficiency and wind dryness TCM pattern.
