Jiuwei Zhuhuang

Jiuwei Zhuhuang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University. It is primarily formulated as an oral liquid and is indicated for the treatment of acute upper respiratory tract infections and associated symptoms such as cough and sore throat. The preparation consists of nine medicinal ingredients, with pig gallstone (Calculus Suis) serving as a key component. In clinical practice, it is used to clear heat, detoxify, and resolve phlegm. As a hospital preparation (院内制剂) in China, it is approved for use within the developing institution and is often prescribed for pediatric and adult patients presenting with viral or bacterial respiratory distress.
