Overview
Jiuweihuaban Pill is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) composition developed by Tasly Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, specifically targeting the "blood-heat syndrome" pattern according to TCM theory. It is a nine-ingredient botanical and animal-derived formulation consisting of baical skullcap root (*Scutellaria baicalensis*), Japanese honeysuckle flower (*Lonicera japonica*), red peony root (*Paeonia lactiflora*), tree peony bark (*Paeonia suffruticosa*), gypsum, charred cape jasmine fruit (*Gardenia jasminoides*), garden burnet root (*Sanguisorba officinalis*), liquorice root (*Glycyrrhiza uralensis*), and buffalo horn powder. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials (NCT06058546) to assess its efficacy and safety in reducing psoriasis symptoms and improving patient outcomes.
