JJH201601 is a small molecule docetaxel analog encapsulated in a liposome formulation, developed by Jiangsu Jibeier Pharmaceutical. As a tubulin inhibitor, it binds to and stabilizes microtubules, thereby inhibiting their depolymerization and arresting the cell cycle at the G2/M phase, which ultimately leads to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. The liposomal delivery system is designed to enhance the therapeutic index of the docetaxel analog by improving its pharmacokinetic profile, prolonging circulation time, and potentially increasing tumor-specific accumulation through the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect, while simultaneously reducing systemic toxicities associated with conventional taxane therapies. It is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development for the treatment of various solid tumors, including lung cancer, liver cancer, and pancreatic cancer.
