JJP-1008 is a first-in-class IgG4-kappa monoclonal antibody targeting CD270 (also known as TNFRSF14 or HVEM), developed as an immune checkpoint inhibitor for personalized cancer treatment. High expression of CD270 on cancer cells suppresses the immune response and is associated with poor prognosis. JJP-1008 binds to a specific epitope of CD270, enabling strong activation of the immune system to fight tumors. In metastatic melanoma, high CD270 expression is mutually exclusive with PD-L1 and linked to resistance against PD1-PD-L1 inhibitors; thus, JJP Biologics is developing a companion diagnostic to identify patients most likely to benefit from this therapy. The therapeutic potential extends beyond metastatic melanoma into other solid tumors and leukemia that share similar tumor microenvironment characteristics[1][3][6].
