Overview

JK5G is a postbiotic formulation developed to modulate the gut microbiota and improve outcomes in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). In clinical studies, administration of JK5G alongside PD-1 inhibitor-based immunotherapy and chemotherapy was associated with reduced incidence of immune-related adverse events (irAEs), improved quality of life, better nutritional status, and amelioration of tumor microenvironment inflammation. The mechanism is believed to involve modulation of the intestinal microbiome, which in turn influences systemic immunity and response to cancer immunotherapy. Clinical trials have demonstrated that patients receiving JK5G had lower rates of anemia, decreased lymphocyte count, appetite loss, nausea, asthenia, and other adverse effects compared to controls[1][2][6].
