JLF048 is a bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) developed by Jecho Laboratories, currently in preclinical development for the treatment of solid tumors. The molecule is designed to simultaneously bind to the Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR), which is frequently overexpressed in various cancers, and the CD3 epsilon subunit of the T-cell receptor complex on cytotoxic T lymphocytes. This dual engagement facilitates the formation of an immunological synapse between the T cell and the tumor cell, leading to T-cell activation and the subsequent release of cytotoxic granules (perforins and granzymes) that induce selective lysis of the EGFR-expressing malignant cells. By redirecting T cells to tumor cells, JLF048 aims to provide a potent immunotherapy option for patients with EGFR-positive cancers.
