JLM003

JLM003 is a recombinant human lysozyme (rhLZ) candidate developed by Jecho Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of vaginal inflammation and infections, including various forms of vaginitis. Lysozyme is a naturally occurring enzyme found in human secretions that provides innate antimicrobial defense by catalyzing the hydrolysis of the 1,4-beta-linkages between N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine residues in the peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cell walls. By utilizing a recombinant human version of this enzyme, JLM003 aims to provide a targeted biologic approach to resolve localized infections and reduce inflammation while potentially minimizing the risk of antimicrobial resistance associated with traditional antibiotics. The drug is designed for topical application to the vaginal mucosa and is currently in clinical development.
