JLM019 is a recombinant fusion protein developed by Jecho Laboratories, currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of cancer. The molecule is designed with a dual mechanism of action, incorporating domains from both CD80 (B7-1) and PD-1 (Programmed Cell Death Protein 1). The PD-1 component is intended to bind to PD-L1 and PD-L2 on tumor cells or antigen-presenting cells, thereby blocking the inhibitory PD-1 checkpoint pathway. Simultaneously, the CD80 component is designed to interact with CD28 on T-cells to provide essential co-stimulatory signals, while also potentially outcompeting inhibitory signals from CTLA-4. This bifunctional approach aims to enhance T-cell activation and restore anti-tumor immunity within the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.
