Overview

JLP-2008 is a **small molecule sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor** developed by Jeil Pharmaceutical for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. SGLT2 inhibitors lower blood glucose levels by inhibiting the SGLT2 protein in the renal proximal tubules, which reduces glucose reabsorption and increases urinary glucose excretion. JLP-2008 is classified as an antihyperglycaemic agent and is a new molecular entity.
