Overview

JM-010 component Group B refers to the buspirone component of JM-010, an investigational combination therapy developed by Bukwang Pharmaceutical and its subsidiary Contera Pharma. JM-010 is a fixed-dose combination of immediate-release buspirone and extended-release zolmitriptan designed to treat levodopa-induced dyskinesia (LID) in patients with Parkinson's disease. In the Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT04392973), "component Group B" refers to the buspirone monotherapy arm used to evaluate the contribution of the individual drug to the overall efficacy and safety of the combination. Buspirone acts as a 5-HT1A receptor agonist, which is hypothesized to reduce dyskinesia by modulating the activity of serotonergic neurons that contribute to erratic dopamine release. In 2024, Bukwang Pharmaceutical announced the termination of the JM-010 clinical development program in the United States after a Phase 2b trial failed to meet its primary endpoint.
