Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JMBI-001 is an orally bioavailable, small-molecule inhibitor of mitotic kinesin-like protein 2 (MKLP2, also known as KIF20A) developed by Anticancer Bioscience (Chengdu Antai Kangsai Biotechnology). It is designed to exploit a synthetic lethal interaction with MYC overexpression, selectively eradicating MYC-overexpressing cancer cells while sparing normal cells. By disrupting MKLP2 functionalities, JMBI-001 causes Golgi fragmentation in interphase and multipolarity in pro-metaphase, leading to apoptosis and immunogenic cell death. Additionally, JMBI-001 stimulates systemic anti-tumor immunity by enhancing natural killer (NK) and CD3+ T-cell infiltration in tumors. It is currently in Phase I/II clinical development in China for the treatment of MYC-positive advanced solid tumors or relapsed/refractory non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
