Overview

JMJD3 siRNA is a research-grade small interfering RNA (siRNA) reagent designed to silence the expression of the JMJD3 gene, also known as KDM6B. JMJD3 is a Jumonji domain-containing histone demethylase that specifically targets the trimethylated lysine 27 on histone H3 (H3K27me3), a mark associated with gene repression. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, JMJD3 siRNA facilitates the sequence-specific degradation of JMJD3 mRNA, leading to a reduction in JMJD3 protein levels and a subsequent increase in H3K27me3 levels at target gene promoters. This tool is extensively used in preclinical and academic research to investigate the epigenetic regulation of inflammation, cell differentiation, and various diseases such as atherosclerosis, acute liver injury, and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. It is commercially available from various life science reagent suppliers but has not been developed as a formal clinical therapeutic candidate.
