Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JMT203 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Shanghai JMT-Bio Technology that targets the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor receptor alpha like (GFRAL). It acts as an antagonist of GFRAL, thereby inhibiting signaling mediated by its ligand, growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15). This pathway is implicated in the regulation of appetite and body weight, particularly under conditions such as cancer cachexia. JMT203 is being developed primarily for the treatment of cancer cachexia and related wasting syndromes. The drug is notable for being the first anti-GFRAL antibody to obtain clinical trial approval in China. Its development aims to address symptoms such as weight loss, anorexia, and muscle wasting associated with tumors and chemotherapy[1][3][5].
