Overview

JNJ-17166864 is a small molecule drug developed as an antagonist of the C-C chemokine receptor type 2 (CCR2). It was investigated primarily for immune and inflammatory conditions, including seasonal allergic rhinitis and inflammation. The compound acts by blocking CCR2, thereby inhibiting chemokine-mediated recruitment of inflammatory cells. The drug was originally developed by Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development and Janssen Research & Development. Clinical development reached up to Phase 2 for seasonal allergic rhinitis (intranasal administration), but no recent reports indicate ongoing development or approval for any indication[2][4][7].
