Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JNJ-28330835 is a nonsteroidal, orally active selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) developed to provide anabolic effects on muscle and bone with reduced stimulation of the prostate gland. In preclinical studies in rats, it enhanced muscle growth and sexual behavior while minimizing prostate hypertrophy. The compound demonstrated mixed agonist and antagonist activity at the androgen receptor in cell-based assays, stimulated lean body mass gain, reduced bone turnover markers, and improved sexual preference behaviors in animal models. These properties suggest potential clinical utility for conditions such as muscle-wasting diseases and sexual function disorders[1][2][6].
