Overview

JNJ-39220675 is a small molecule investigational drug developed as a selective histamine H3 receptor antagonist. It is an aryloxypyridine amide that readily penetrates the blood-brain barrier and exhibits high affinity for the histamine H3 receptor. The compound was primarily investigated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and has also been studied preclinically for its effects on alcohol-related behaviors. In clinical studies, JNJ-39220675 demonstrated efficacy in reducing symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as nasal congestion and total nasal symptom scores. Preclinical data suggest it may reduce alcohol intake and preference in animal models by antagonizing central H3 receptors[2][5][6][8].
