Overview

JNJ-41443532 is an investigational small molecule drug developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It acts as an oral antagonist of the C-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CCR2), a receptor involved in macrophage recruitment to adipose tissue, which is believed to contribute to insulin resistance and the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. Clinical studies have shown that administration of JNJ-41443532 results in modest improvements in glycemic parameters and is generally well tolerated. The drug was developed by Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development and Janssen Research & Development, but development has not progressed beyond phase II clinical trials[1][2][3][4][5][6].
