JNJ-55920839 is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed by Janssen Research & Development for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). It selectively neutralizes most human interferon alpha (IFNα) subtypes and interferon omega (IFNω), thereby modulating the type I interferon pathway, which is implicated in SLE pathogenesis. The drug has been evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials for safety and tolerability in both healthy volunteers and patients with mild-to-moderate SLE. The most common adverse events observed were infections; no other significant safety issues were identified beyond this[1][2][3][4].
