Overview

JNJ-70035108 is a monoclonal antibody developed by Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) that targets the interleukin-22 binding protein (IL-22BP), also known as IL-22RA2. IL-22BP is a soluble decoy receptor that naturally binds to and neutralizes interleukin-22 (IL-22). By antagonizing IL-22BP, JNJ-70035108 increases the availability of bioactive IL-22, which is known to promote epithelial cell proliferation, survival, and barrier function. This therapeutic approach is being explored for inflammatory conditions where epithelial barrier dysfunction is a key component, such as atopic dermatitis and ulcerative colitis. Enhancing IL-22 signaling is hypothesized to restore the integrity of the skin and intestinal barriers, thereby reducing chronic inflammation.
