Overview

JNJ-87704916 is a recombinant oncolytic herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) developed as an investigational therapy for cancer. It is designed to preferentially infect and replicate within tumor cells, leading to viral-mediated tumor cell lysis and antineoplastic effects. The drug is administered via intratumoral injection and is currently being evaluated as both monotherapy and in combination with other agents, such as cetrelimab, for the treatment of advanced solid tumors including metastatic solid tumors and relapsed or refractory metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.
