JNJ-95804306 is an orally bioavailable, potent, and selective small molecule inhibitor of B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL-2), currently under development by Janssen Research & Development (a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson). BCL-2 is a pro-survival protein that is frequently overexpressed in various hematological malignancies, where it prevents apoptosis (programmed cell death) of cancer cells. By selectively binding to and inhibiting BCL-2, JNJ-95804306 triggers the apoptotic pathway in malignant cells. It is being investigated in Phase 1 clinical trials for the treatment of relapsed or refractory hematological malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), both as a monotherapy and in combination with standard-of-care treatments.
