Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JointVex (EAD100) is an innovative veterinary drug developed for the treatment of osteoarthritis in animals, particularly dogs. It is a dual-function peptide drug that selectively modulates transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β) signaling pathways by combining with TGF-β1. Specifically, it blocks the Smad1/5/8 pathway which promotes cartilage degeneration while maintaining the Smad2/3 pathway that induces cartilage regeneration. This mechanism not only promotes cartilage tissue regeneration but also provides rapid pain relief by reducing nerve growth factor (NGF) gene expression. JointVex is administered via intra-articular injection and aims to offer an alternative to NSAIDs with fewer side effects related to organ dysfunction or digestive disorders in animals.
