Jonexa

Jonexa is an intra-articular injectable combination therapy indicated for the treatment of pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee. It consists of hylan G-F 20, a cross-linked derivative of hyaluronan, and triamcinolone hexacetonide, a corticosteroid. The hylan component serves as a viscosupplement, restoring the rheological properties of the synovial fluid to provide mechanical lubrication and shock absorption within the joint. The triamcinolone hexacetonide component provides rapid anti-inflammatory action to reduce joint pain and swelling. Developed by Genzyme (a subsidiary of Sanofi), Jonexa is designed to offer both immediate symptomatic relief and sustained improvement in joint function for patients who have not responded adequately to conservative treatments.
