Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JOYRAB-20 is a branded generic pharmaceutical product marketed by JoY Pharma, containing 20 mg of rabeprazole sodium. Rabeprazole is a substituted benzimidazole that belongs to the class of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). It is indicated for the treatment of various gastrointestinal disorders, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastric and duodenal ulcers, and pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The drug functions by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system, commonly known as the gastric proton pump, at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell. This action effectively blocks the final step of gastric acid secretion, providing relief from acid-related symptoms and promoting the healing of mucosal damage.
