Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JOYROX-DX is a branded generic combination medication marketed by JoY Pharma for the symptomatic relief of dry cough, nasal congestion, and allergic symptoms associated with the common cold, hay fever, or other upper respiratory allergies. The formulation typically combines three active ingredients: dextromethorphan hydrobromide, a centrally acting antitussive that suppresses the cough reflex by acting on the cough center in the medulla; chlorpheniramine maleate, a first-generation alkylamine antihistamine that reduces symptoms like sneezing and runny nose by antagonizing H1 receptors; and phenylephrine hydrochloride, a sympathomimetic decongestant that shrinks swollen nasal membranes by stimulating alpha-adrenergic receptors. It is commonly available as an oral syrup in the Indian market for use in both adult and pediatric populations.
