Overview

JRF106 is a small molecule inhibitor of MAPK-activated protein kinase 2 (MK2) developed by Shenzhen Jinruijiye Biotechnology. It is designed to treat solid tumors and brain edema by targeting the p38 MAPK signaling pathway. MK2 is a crucial downstream mediator of inflammation and cell stress responses; its inhibition leads to reduced production of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-alpha and interleukins, which are implicated in the pathogenesis of brain edema. In oncology, MK2 inhibition is explored for its ability to sensitize tumor cells to chemotherapy and inhibit tumor progression. The drug is notably advanced in its development for brain edema, with an NDA filing planned or underway as of 2024.
