Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JS-K IPG8 is a preclinical-stage small molecule nitric oxide (NO) donor being developed by JSK Therapeutics for the treatment of melanoma. As an arylated diazeniumdiolate prodrug, JS-K is designed to release nitric oxide upon activation by glutathione S-transferases (GST), an enzyme family frequently overexpressed in cancer cells. This targeted release of nitric oxide induces intracellular oxidative stress, DNA damage, and apoptosis specifically in malignant cells while sparing normal tissues. JSK Therapeutics is investigating JS-K IPG8 as a potential therapeutic option for melanoma.
