Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JS008 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Junshi Biosciences that targets angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3). ANGPTL3 is a protein primarily synthesized in the liver that plays a critical role in lipid metabolism by inhibiting lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and endothelial lipase (EL). By blocking the activity of ANGPTL3, JS008 promotes the activity of these lipases, leading to the increased clearance of triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) from the bloodstream. JS008 is being investigated for the treatment of metabolic disorders, including hyperlipidemia and hypercholesterolemia, particularly in patients who do not achieve adequate lipid control with standard therapies such as statins or PCSK9 inhibitors.
