Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JT002 is an orally active, potent, and selective small molecule inhibitor of the NLRP3 inflammasome. It blocks the formation and activation of the NLRP3 inflammasome complex, thereby reducing the production of NLRP3-dependent proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-1α, and IL-18. JT002 also prevents pyroptosis (an inflammatory form of cell death) and has demonstrated efficacy in preclinical models by mitigating airway hyperresponsiveness and neutrophilia in mice. It has shown therapeutic potential in diseases associated with excessive NLRP3 activation, including severe asthma, Muckle-Wells syndrome (MWS), neuroinflammation, cardiovascular disease, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), lupus nephritis, and other inflammatory disorders.
