Overview
Juanbi Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Yunnan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (The First Affiliated Hospital of Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine). It is specifically formulated for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and other "Bi syndromes" (painful obstruction syndromes) in TCM. The preparation is designed to dispel wind, eliminate dampness, and unblock the collaterals to alleviate joint pain, swelling, and morning stiffness. Pharmacological studies indicate that Juanbi Granule possesses significant anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory properties, working by suppressing the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β), and interleukin-6 (IL-6), and inhibiting the NF-κB signaling pathway. It is a widely used clinical preparation in Yunnan province for chronic inflammatory joint diseases.
