Juglans californica pollen

Juglans californica pollen is an allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the Juglans californica plant, also known as the California Black Walnut. [4, 5] It is marketed by Greer Laboratories, Inc. and was approved as a biologic (BLA101833) on September 15, 1981. [2] The product is indicated for the diagnosis (via skin testing) and treatment (via immunotherapy) of patients with immediate hypersensitivity allergies to California Black Walnut pollen. [2, 6] The mechanism of action involves modulating the body's immune response through cell-mediated immunity, leading to increased IgG production and desensitization to the allergen. [2] It is administered as a solution via intradermal, percutaneous, or subcutaneous routes. [2]
