Overview

Jumtab is a pharmaceutical drug that is a brand of interferon beta-1a, a cytokine used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS). It functions by modulating the immune system, balancing pro- and anti-inflammatory agents in the brain, reducing the migration of inflammatory cells across the blood-brain barrier, and decreasing neuronal inflammation. It is administered intramuscularly. Biogen is involved in its development.
