Juniperus occidentalis pollen is a non-standardized allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the Western juniper tree. It is utilized as a biologic product for the diagnosis and treatment of immediate hypersensitivity reactions, such as allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma, specifically in patients sensitive to Western juniper. The extract is administered via intradermal, percutaneous, or subcutaneous routes. In diagnostic applications, it is used in skin testing to identify specific IgE-mediated allergies.
