juniperus oxycedrus allergen extract + cupressus arizonica allergen extract

This is a biologic allergen extract combining pollen from Juniperus oxycedrus (prickly juniper) and Cupressus arizonica (Arizona cypress), two plants in the Cupressaceae family. It is being developed as an in-house reference preparation for standardizing allergy diagnostic tests, specifically skin prick tests. [3-1, 3-2] The product is intended for the diagnosis of inhalant allergies such as rhinitis, rhinoconjunctivitis, and/or asthma in patients with a clinical history of sensitivity to these pollens. [3-13, 4-23] It works by targeting the immune system, specifically triggering an IgE-mediated response upon intradermal administration in sensitized individuals, allowing for the confirmation of an allergy. Due to significant cross-reactivity within the Cupressaceae family, individuals allergic to one species often react to others.
