Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jupimarc-F is an oral fixed-dose combination therapy developed by Cytech Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. It combines rosuvastatin, a selective and competitive HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin), with fenofibrate, a fibric acid derivative that acts as an agonist of the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα). This dual-action approach targets multiple lipid pathways: rosuvastatin reduces hepatic cholesterol synthesis and increases LDL receptor expression, while fenofibrate enhances the catabolism of triglyceride-rich particles and increases HDL cholesterol levels. The product is marketed in India as a tablet formulation containing 160mg of fenofibrate and 10mg of rosuvastatin.
