Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus XC is a sterile, biodegradable, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic injectable gel implant composed of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) produced by Streptococcus species of bacteria and formulated at a concentration of 24 mg/mL with 0.3% w/w lidocaine in a physiologic buffer. It is indicated for injection into the mid to deep dermis for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. The addition of lidocaine provides local anesthesia to improve patient comfort during injection. The product temporarily restores volume and smooths facial lines by acting as a cushioning agent in the skin[3][6][8]. Developed primarily for aesthetic use in adults over 21 years old, it is FDA-approved for these indications[2][7].
