JUVÉDERM VOLLURE XC is a sterile, biodegradable, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic injectable gel implant composed of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) produced by Streptococcus species bacteria and formulated with 0.3% lidocaine to reduce injection pain. It is indicated for injection into the mid-to-deep dermis for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds—such as nasolabial folds—in adults over 21 years old. The mechanism of action involves HA acting as a temporary filler that restores volume and smooths facial lines by attracting water molecules in the skin[1][6][8]. Lidocaine acts locally to decrease discomfort during administration[1][8]. Developed for subtle volume addition and natural-looking results, it provides long-lasting effects with minimal swelling or bruising[9].
