Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Juvéderm Voluma with Lidocaine is a sterile, biodegradable, viscoelastic dermal filler composed of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (20 mg/mL) and lidocaine hydrochloride (0.3%). Manufactured by Allergan (an AbbVie company), it is designed for deep injection to restore facial volume, particularly in the mid-face and cheeks, using Vycross technology to achieve a smooth, long-lasting effect. The inclusion of lidocaine serves as a local anesthetic to minimize pain during the injection process. Beyond its primary aesthetic use for age-related volume loss, it has been investigated in clinical trials for the management of excessive gingival display (gummy smile) through a myomodulation technique that limits the hyperactivity of upper lip elevator muscles.
