Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC is a sterile, biodegradable, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic gel implant composed of crosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA) produced by Streptococcus equi bacteria and formulated at a concentration of 20 mg/mL with 0.3% w/w lidocaine in a physiologic buffer. It is designed for deep (subcutaneous and/or supraperiosteal) injection to temporarily restore volume loss in the cheeks, chin, and temple regions due to aging or other causes. The product augments facial contours by adding volume beneath the skin surface, providing immediate lifting effects and improved facial balance. Its mechanism relies on the biophysical properties of crosslinked HA to attract water molecules and provide structural support within soft tissue. Lidocaine is included for local anesthetic effect during injection[1][6][9]. Developed using proprietary VYCROSS technology for enhanced longevity and smooth consistency[9], results can last up to 13 months with optimal treatment[2][8].
