Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JV-001 is a gene therapy developed for the treatment of heart failure due to dilated cardiomyopathy. It is an adeno-associated viral vector (AAV9) expressing a modified telomerase protein-telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT), driven by a cardiac troponin T promoter (cTnT). The therapy aims to address the accelerated telomere shortening observed in cardiomyocytes during cardiac dysfunction, which leads to DNA damage. JV-001 targets telomeric ends to potentially restore cardiac function in heart failure patients.
