JW0106 + C2101

JW0106 + C2101 is a combination drug regimen developed by JW Pharmaceutical for the management of dyslipidemia and hypertension. The regimen consists of the co-administration of two separate components: JW0106, which is a fixed-dose combination of the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor pitavastatin and the angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) valsartan, and C2101, which is the calcium channel blocker (CCB) amlodipine. Pitavastatin reduces cholesterol levels by inhibiting hepatic cholesterol synthesis, while valsartan and amlodipine work through distinct mechanisms to lower blood pressure—valsartan by blocking the AT1 receptor to prevent vasoconstriction and amlodipine by inhibiting calcium influx into vascular smooth muscle to promote vasodilation. This combination is typically evaluated in clinical trials to compare its safety and pharmacokinetic profile against a single triple-combination tablet, JW0107.
