Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JW08 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy being developed by Juventas Cell Therapy for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The therapy is designed to target CD123 (Interleukin-3 receptor subunit alpha), a cell surface protein that is highly and consistently expressed on AML blasts and leukemic stem cells, making it a strategic target for eliminating the source of the malignancy. By genetically engineering a patient's T cells to express a CAR specific to CD123, JW08 aims to selectively identify and destroy leukemic cells while potentially sparing healthy hematopoietic cells with lower antigen density. JW08 is part of Juventas' broader pipeline of cellular therapies, which includes both autologous and universal (off-the-shelf) products. As of early 2024, the program is in the preclinical or early clinical development stage.
