JWATM213 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), developed by Shanghai Ming Ju Biotechnology, a subsidiary of JW Therapeutics. Currently in Phase 1 clinical development, it is designed for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The therapy utilizes T cells engineered to recognize AFP-derived peptides presented by HLA-A*02:01 on the surface of tumor cells. By targeting AFP, a protein frequently overexpressed in HCC, JWATM213 aims to provide a precision immunotherapy option for patients with advanced liver cancer who have limited treatment alternatives.
