Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JY028 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody designed to target and neutralize vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). It is being developed for the treatment of neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (nAMD). By binding to VEGF, JY028 inhibits the signaling pathways that lead to abnormal angiogenesis and increased vascular permeability in the retina, which are the primary drivers of vision loss in nAMD patients. The drug is administered via intravitreal injection and has been evaluated in Phase I dose-escalation studies to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics.
