Overview

JY05 is a biosimilar candidate of dulaglutide, a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. Developed by Hangzhou Jiuyuan Genetic Biopharmaceutical (also known as Hangzhou Yuanda Biopharmaceutical), JY05 is a recombinant fusion protein consisting of two GLP-1 molecules linked to a human IgG4 Fc fragment. The drug acts by binding to and activating the GLP-1 receptor, which enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses inappropriate glucagon secretion, and slows gastric emptying. It is primarily being developed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials to demonstrate bioequivalence and safety compared to the reference product.
