Drug intelligence / Profile preview
JY301 is a small molecule sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor being developed by Jinyang Pharmaceutical for the treatment of diabetes. By targeting SGLT2 in the proximal tubules of the kidneys, the drug prevents the reabsorption of filtered glucose into the bloodstream, thereby promoting its excretion through urine (glucosuria). This insulin-independent mechanism helps lower glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels and may provide additional benefits such as weight reduction and blood pressure lowering. Currently, JY301 is in the preclinical stage of development within Jinyang Pharmaceutical's metabolic disease pipeline.
